Term:2009-2014
Kevin Milan serves as a Captain with South Metro Fire Rescue (CO), and past Training Chief for the Golden (CO) fire department. He is a 20 year fire service veteran. Kevin is a graduate of the NFA Executive Fire Officer Program; holds a Master of Science in Executive Fire Service Leadership and is a PhD candidate at Oklahoma State University. He is currently President of the Colorado Training Officers Association, State Advocate for the NFFF, Western Regional Representative of ISFSI, and recipient of NFA outstanding research awards in 2005 and 2006.

Jason Hoevelmann is a Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal with the Sullivan Fire Protection District, a combination department, and a career Captain and  Training Officer with the Florissant Valley Fire Protection District in North St. Louis County. His experience spans more than 20 years and he has been an instructor for more than 15 years. He is an adjunct instructor for the St. Louis County Fire Academy and is a State Certified Fire Officer II. Jason holds an Associate’s Degree in Paramedic Science from East Central College and a Bachelors degree in Fire Service Administration from Eastern Oregon University. He is currently a, a Board Member of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors and on the technical committee for Professional Fire Officer Qualifications for NFPA. Jason has been published in Fire Engineering, OnScene and writes a monthly column for FireRescue1.com. He has presented at FDIC and Fire Rescue International along with local, regional and national deliveries. He started and operates the blog “A Firefighter’s Own Worst Enemy” and is part owner of Engine House Training, LLC.

 
 

Term:2012-2014
Brian Ward currently serves as the Chief of Emergency Operations and Training Director for Georgia Pacific in Madison, Georgia and as the Training Officer at the City of Gray Volunteer Fire Department. He obtains a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Safety and Technology Engineering from the University of Cincinnati along with an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science.  Some of his rewards and certifications include: Fire Department Management from NACO, Distinguished Service Award, Top 20 CTBS Instructor and National Seal of Excellence for Leadership and Safety presented by the National Fallen Fighters Foundation and Everyone Goes Home. He also serves on the Honeywell Advisory Council, FEMA ARG Grant Committee, and an author for the Fire Engineering Magazine. He currently serves on the ISFSI Board of Directors as the Eastern Director at Large.
