Description

Primary Purpose: The incumbent is responsible for assisting with a variety of fire program planning, implementation and monitoring related to the mission objectives of the National Fire Programs office.

Specific Duties:

  • Assists in developing, coordinating, and evaluating program plans, policies and operational procedures;
  • Provides contract monitor oversight to program projects;
  • Coordinates assigned program activities with emphasis on special topic, short term projects;
  • Develops information papers, articles, and reports documenting the planning and implementation of new initiatives and projects;
  • Conducts research and policy review to support program initiatives, and collects and analyzes data;
  • Facilitates work groups, participates in organizational team meetings, conferences, and ad hoc committees;
  • Prepares project budget estimates, detailed program papers, back-up materials and responses to congressional hearings and inquiries;
  • Provides technical assistance to specialized program components.

This is a temporary position not-to-exceed 3/28/2011.

Skills Required Qualifications: Specialized Experience Requirements: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is described as experience preparing routine organizational reports such as weekly status briefings and the responsibility for the collection of information from others and decision-making regarding what information to include in final product.
