So once again a short video clip of a fire has created a great stir in the world of the internet. The latest video came from California and shows crews operating on a working fire in what appears to be an auto repair shop.

When we look at society we are surrounded by change. Over the course of my short 38 years here, we no longer allow smoking in most public places (as a matter of fact, I can’t even imagine what it used to be like to fly in a cabin full of cigarette smoke for hours).

Notice the title is not “How to be a good fire instructor.” There is a distinct difference and the definition of “good” is relative anyway. You may be thinking that as an instructor, you have already taken all the classes and have become a subject matter expert, but have you really?
