Data Driven Training Plans Webinar

When:  Aug 15, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 (ET)
Presented by: Dr. Lori Moore-Merrell, President & CEO, International Public Safety Data Institute

There are key performance measures that fire departments should be tracking in order to make meaningful operational decisions. Today there are new methods for easily capturing the data needed for those measures making it easier for fire service leaders to use data to effect change at the administrative, company and individual firefighter levels. These data and operational measures also hold information for training officers. Information that can enlighten areas of department strengths and operational deficits. During this session you will learn why fire service leaders need to use performance measures to drive operational and policy decisions, support fiscal requests and advise training curriculum. You will also experience how to use live data and performance measures at the company level to empower officers and firefighters to improve performance and reduce risks using the National Fire Operations Reporting System (NFORS). NFORS not only captures and analyzes operational data but also tracks and records individual firefighter physical and behavioral health exposures to ensure adequate documentation in the event of cancer or PTSD diagnosis. Welcome to the new world of NFORS.

Learning Objectives:
- Participants will understand the vast amount of under-utilized data available in the fire service.
- Participants will develop insights for interpreting data beyond the numbers to make it useful.
- Participants will learn how to leverage available technology to analyze data for their department, gain knowledge and move to action.
