Bio

I am a Training Lieutenant with the Golden Fire Department in Golden, CO, where I lead instructor development and training initiatives focused on safety, operational excellence, and leadership in the modern fire service. I have a strong background in emergency response and education and bring over 15 years of experience as a Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor II, Driver/Operator (Pumper and Aerial), Paramedic, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Blue Card-certified Incident Commander.

I hold a Master of Public Administration, a Bachelor of Emergency Responder Administration, and an Associate of Applied Science in Municipal Fire Protection, and am currently pursuing a Master of Nonprofit Administration at the University of Notre Dame, where I am expanding my expertise in mission-driven leadership and organizational strategy.

I am an active member of the ISFSI, serving on the 1403 Committee, as a 1403 Instructor, and as part of the Modern Fire Instructor Cadre. I also contribute to the Publications Committee and presented at the 2025 Instructor Development Conference, sharing my passion for advancing instructional excellence across the fire service.

I am an alternate member on the NFPA 1700 committee, member of the NFPA 1010 workgroup for Firefighter I and II JPRs, a member of the Hazardous Materials for First Responders Committee, and served as a member of the Fire Service Orientation and Terminology Committee and Nominations and Elections Committee for IFSTA. In recognition of my dedication and bravery, I received an Award of Valor and a Distinguished Service Award for actions taken during an incident in November 2024. I was given the Excellence in Instruction Award from the ISFSI at FDIC in 2023. I remain committed to mentorship, innovation, and strengthening the fire service through education, collaboration, and values-based leadership.
